[EN] When does school start in Aragon: this is the date of the return to school for the 2026-2027 academic year

There are still a few weeks to go before we get back to the routine of classes, early mornings, backpacks and schedules, but with September getting closer and closer, many families are already wondering when the school year 2026-2027 begins in Aragón. The return to the classroom will come in stages according to the different teachings, although for most students, the new course will start during the first days of September.

The Department of Education of the Government of Aragon has set Tuesday, September 8, 2026 as the start date of classes for students of Early Childhood Education, Primary, Special Education and Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO). A day later, on Wednesday, September 9, the course for Baccalaureate will begin, while face-to-face Vocational Training will start on Thursday, September 10. The rest of the teachings will be progressively incorporated during September and early October.

CHRISTMAS, EASTER AND SUMMER: WHEN WILL THE 2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR HOLIDAYS BE

One of the most eagerly awaited moments for families will come with the Christmas holidays. The Christmas break will begin after classes on the morning of Tuesday, December 22, 2026 and will run until Wednesday, January 6, 2027, both included.

The second big break of the course will come with the holidays of Easter. In Aragon, students will not have classes from Thursday, March 25 to Friday, April 2, 2027, thus enjoying more than a week without teaching activity.

As for the summer, the course will officially end on Friday, June 18, 2027 for most non-university education. It will be then when the long summer holidays will start for thousands of Aragonese students.
