Day one without Francho Serrano. After the fleeting departure of the main symbol and bulwark of the Real Zaragoza in recent years who no longer trained this past Tuesday with the white club as he was working on his departure to Gatafe, Ibai Gómez’s team has trained for the second time this last week of preseason in a session that has had the return of Sergio Escudero and the absence of Diego Monzón and Hugo Carrillo.

The veteran full-back was not with the group last Tuesday and trained individually to manage his physical loads. In this way, Escudero, who has had a couple of setbacks this preseason, has returned to the orders of Ibai Gómez to train this Wednesday on the pitch of the Ciudad Deportiva facilities.

All this in a training session that has not been able to count on either Diego Monzón or Hugo Carrillo. The young midfielder, who is being one of the positive surprises of the preseason, suffers a sprain in the external lateral ligament of his right ankle and his evolution will mark his availability to rejoin the group. While the centre-back has worked on the sidelines in the gym.

Within the session and in the minutes that the press had access to training, the coach put special impetus into working on the ball out with an exercise where he brought together those in charge of that task. Diego González, Tachi and Barrachina, in the front line, and Terrer, Ander, Rubén Díez, Pinilla, Ademo and Saidu, up front, have worked on a task that has been individualized for these nine players.

LAST WEEK OF PRESEASON

After training this Wednesday, Real Zaragoza, who will no longer have any double session days this last week of preseason, will return to the fray next Thursday with a verpertine session that will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Ciudad Deportiva of the white entity.

In this way, Ibai Gómez’s team will close its training schedule before reliving two friendlies in just 24 hours. In their last pre-season friendlies, Real Zaragoza will host Bilbao Athletic this Friday at the Ibercaja Estadio (7:30 p.m.) and then travel to Soria to face Numancia (8:00 p.m.) and thus close their preparation for the start of the competition on the last weekend of August.
