[EN] Carlos Cantero returns and will be from day one with a Casademont Zaragoza that will have new faces in its coaching staff

The wait is over. From this Monday, August 24, Casademont Zaragoza will start the engines with the return to work of a red-and-white team that will seek this next season to reach or even exceed the high levels crowned this last season. And for this, the captain of the Aragonese ship, Carlos Cantero, will once again be at the foot of the cannon from the first day of preseason.

The red-and-white coach will return to the dynamics of the red-and-white team from this Monday after the period of absence that began at the end of last April due to the birth of his son that caused him to be absent in the playoffs for the league title.
Marie-Pierre Uriarte will continue alongside him as assistant coach and Glòria Estopà, whose arrival at the club was announced last June, will join the daily work.

Pablo Jiménez joins the physical preparation area. The new red-and-white physical trainer arrives from Innova-TSN Leganés, where he has developed his work during the last two seasons and has been part of the growth of the Madrid team to compete in the Endesa Women’s League. Jiménez takes over from Alejandro Arza, whom the club thanks for the work done during his time at the club and wishes him luck in his next projects.

The rest of the structure is completed by Bea González, who will continue to serve as a team delegate, Alfredo Rodríguez and Carlos Agius will be responsible for medical services and in the physiotherapy area, Juan Carlos Palacio will continue to be at the helm. Palacio will be accompanied this season by Cristina Moreno while Ali Calvo takes a step aside from the day-to-day life of the team. Carlos Martín will continue as podiatrist and Raúl Luzón as head of nutrition, while Daniel Losilla will continue to perform the functions of kit man.

THE PRESEASON

Carlos Cantero’s team will return to their routine this Monday and after the ‘stage’ in Benasque from August 31 to September 3 they will start with the friendlies. The first preparation match will come on September 10, when Casademont will face Inversus Gernika Bizkaia from 8:00 p.m. in the Navarrese town of Olite.

The preseason will continue with a double header against the Greek Athinaikos WBC who, precisely, share a group with the red-and-white club in the first phase of the Euroleague. The first will be played on September 18, at 8:30 p.m., in Ejea de los Caballeros. Meanwhile, the second will be two days later at the Príncipe Felipe in the dispute of the Ibercaja Ciudad de Zaragoza Trophy at 5:30 p.m. 

The last rehearsal before the official premiere will come on September 23, when Casademont visits Torres de Berrellén to face Azul Marino New Travel at 9:00 p.m. It will be the last test before heading to Torrejón de Ardoz, where the rojillas will defend the Super Cup title.
