Beyond finishing the preseason, distributing minutes and continuing to accumulate training for the start of the competition next weekend, the match of Real Zaragoza in Soria against Numancia will be engraved in the retina for two members of the Aragonese entity’s academy: Javier Berdejo and Álvaro Palacio.
Both homegrown players enjoyed the first minutes with the first team jersey in a match of circumstances where Ibai Gómez prioritized the distribution of minutes and charges to something else. In this way, Berdejo took the field after the break to show his positioning and forcefulness in the white defense, while Palacio came out almost half an hour into the game to give pose and vision to the Aragonese midfield.
Berdejo, only 16 years old and in the first year of youth, is one of the greatest promises of the Real Zaragoza youth academy and despite his youth this season he will be a regular in the ranks of Deportivo Aragón. Precisely after an excellent pre-season with the Blanquillo reserve team, the young centre-back had his first opportunity this Saturday, completing the squad for the match in Soria due to the blow suffered by Diego González against Bilbao Athletic.
LOAD SHARING
The absence of the Castellón defender forced the coach to find in the young academy player the solution so as not to overload Barrachina, who played almost 70 minutes against the Basque reserve team and the first half in Soria, and who is also one of the candidates to be a starter in the debut in Tarragona.
For his part, Palacio, also a member of Deportivo Aragón who will turn 20 in just one month, has made his debut with the Real Zaragoza first team after playing for Racing Zaragoza and the Juvenil A of the white club and continuing his progression as part of the Aragonese reserve team. Two players who will never forget a magical day and who will be very much taken into account in the near future of Real Zaragoza.
