A group of four mountaineers had to be rescued this Saturday on the Aneto glacier after two were entangled and two others suffered a slide down a slope and a subsequent vertical fall. It was one of the most outstanding interventions of a weekend in which the Civil Guard also located four other hikers who had gone astray in different parts of the Huesca Pyrenees.
The rescue of the Aneto began after a warning received at 11.30 am and mobilised the GREIM and the Benasque Air Unit. The two mountaineers who had been stranded, both 34 years old and residents of Girona, were evacuated without injury. His two companions had worse luck: a 23-year-old man had a possible wrist injury and an ankle wound, while an 18-year-old woman suffered possible injuries to the shoulder, elbow and wrist, as well as injuries to a leg.
The interventions continued that same Saturday with two rescues of lost hikers. At 7:02 p.m., the GREIM of Jaca located in the area of the Boca del Infierno, in the Valle de Hecho, two men aged 31 and 29, residents of Malaga, who had gotten lost during a route. None of them had injuries and they were able to return to their vehicles.
Hours later, at 11:00 p.m., a new notice was received for a 45-year-old man and a 12-year-old child who had gone astray in the area of Pico Mesa de los Tres Reyes, in Ansó. The two, residents of Bilbao, were found without injuries and evacuated to their vehicle, parked in the Linza shelter.
These actions are part of a particularly active weekend for the rescue groups of the Civil Guard in the province of Huesca. Between Friday 21 and Sunday 23 they also had to operate for injuries and falls in Cap de Llauset, Pueyo de Jaca, Ibón de Millares, Torrente de la Llardaneta, Sorrosal ravine and Pozas de Puyarruego.
