The Government of Aragón, the Provincial Council of Huesca, the mayors of the affected municipalities and representatives of the tourism sector have agreed to create a commission to monitor the works on the A-132, which will allow the territory to have updated information on the works and participate in the planning of the next road closures.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Development, Housing, Logistics and Territorial Cohesion, Octavio López; the Director General of Roads and Infrastructure, Miguel Ángel Arminio; the President of the Provincial Council of Huesca, Isaac Claver; mayors of the affected municipalities, representatives of the Hoya de Huesca Region and the tourism sector.
The first total cut will take place from 9:00 a.m. on September 14 until 00:00 a.m. on September 30, to allow the planned works on viaduct number 11, located between Puerto de Santa Bárbara and Bailo.
The agreement also establishes that the following total cuts will be agreed and planned before March 1, with the aim of preventing the main actions from coinciding with the start of the high tourist season. In that period, the intervention on viaducts 1 and 2, located next to the La Peña reservoir, is planned.
«NECESSARY» WORKS
The Minister Octavio López stressed that «the works are necessary and will substantially improve a fundamental road for this territory, but we are also aware that its execution must be done taking into account those who live and work here». He also pointed out that «we want the territory to know in advance when and how the cuts are going to take place. Planning and dialogue will allow us to make the work compatible with economic and tourist activity«.
For his part, the president of the DPH, Isaac Claver, has valued the agreement as «an important step for municipalities and the tourism sector to have information and the ability to anticipate the effects that the works may generate». The monitoring committee will allow the progress of the work to be monitored and direct communication to be maintained between the administrations and the territory, especially with a view to planning the next phases of the action.
