[EN] A fire in the Serra de Collserola Natural Park forces the confinement of two neighbourhoods of Barcelona

A forest fire in Barcelona forces the confinement of the Torre Baró and Ciutat Meridiana neighbourhoods due to their proximity to the population. The fire declared this Tuesday at 3:20 p.m. provisionally affects 35 hectares of the Sierra de Collserola Natural Park.

More than 160 personnel and twelve air resources of the firefighters of Catalonia are working on the ground. In addition, the City Police are cutting traffic on the roads from Horta to Cerdanyola, the Collserola Cemetery and Alta de les Roquetes.

The rural agents of the Generalitat have reported that the area is at high risk due to African swine fever. For this reason, they have deployed disinfection teams to clean the vehicles and equipment of the emergency services and thus prevent the spread of this virus.
