The Children’s Sector held this Thursday to address the situation of immigrant minors in Ceuta and the sit-in of the Vice President of the Government of Aragón and Minister of Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family, Alejandro Nolasco, to Minister Sira Rego have brought different reactions from the political groups present in the Parliament.
On the part of Vox, its spokesman Santiago Morón has supported its leader’s decision. In addition, he has stressed his rejection of «any agreement» for the distribution of these minors and his intention to challenge «all files» that do not involve their return to Morocco.
He also insisted that «the Central Government has the obligation to carry out an individualised assessment of each alleged minor» by virtue of its exclusive competence in foreigners. «It is Morocco’s responsibility to take care of its minors and to proceed with the return of all those who have invaded the national territory», he said.
Meanwhile, the Popular Party has focused its intervention on criticizing the Children’s Sectorial, which its councilors in other autonomous communities have attended. Its spokeswoman in the Parliament, Ana Marín, has described it as «a roller with which the Government imposes its decisions, always leaving Catalonia and the Basque Country out of the distribution of minors».
In addition, the deputy of the PP in the Cortes has warned that after a month it is still not known «how many minors there are in Ceuta», and no solution has been found because «it has been necessary to wait for Pedro Sánchez to return from vacation». Finally, he has rejected that the PSOE of Aragon speaks of «institutional loyalty».
For its part, the PSOE has reproached the Azcón government for «leaving Aragon’s chair empty» in the Sectoral Commission for Children and Adolescents and renouncing to «defend the interests of the Aragonese». Its deputy Mónica Iglesias has pointed out the difference in position between some autonomous communities governed by the PP and others in which Vox has competences in immigration.
Iglesias has pointed out that one can deeply disagree with the Government of Spain, but that these political differences do not exempt the regional executive from fulfilling its institutional responsibilities. «It is precisely when there are differences that it is most necessary to go, defend Aragon’s position and show our faces,» he said.
