The City Council of Sariñena wanted to express «its deep sorrow» for the death of one of the workers affected by the collapse that occurred this Thursday in a building on Fatás Street. It has also decreed a day of official mourning for this Friday, a day on which the flags of the municipal buildings will fly at half-mast.
The council has conveyed «its most sincere condolences and all its support» to his family, colleagues and relatives of the deceased, and has wished to show «its closeness to the other two workers» who have been injured and to convey its best wishes for a speedy recovery.
In addition, the events planned for these days have been suspended, both those organized within the Cultural August program and those planned in the portico of the patron saint festivities of San Antolín. Specifically, the viewing of the films from the Huesca Film Festival’s Winners’ List, the general dance rehearsal and the inauguration of the Casa del Gasto are suspended.
Finally, the City Council is deeply grateful for the quick action and work of all the emergency and security services, as well as the local companies ATC Constructora, López Marín and Monegrina and the numerous neighbors who have collaborated in the device deployed after the collapse.
