The Civil Guard has arrested a 46-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the death of more than a hundred birds. The arrested man would have climbed into a farm, forced several cages and decapitated 80 quails and 24 pigeons.
The events took place on August 7 in Vall d’Alba, a municipality in the province of Castellón, in the Valencian Community. According to the information provided by the Civil Guard, the alleged perpetrator managed to enter the property and, once inside, forced several cages in which the birds were kept.
The toll was 104 dead animals. In addition, at the time of leaving the farm, the investigated would have stolen several birds that were inside the property.
INVESTIGATION BY THE CIVIL GUARD
After learning of the facts, the Civil Guard agents began the corresponding investigations and carried out different steps to clarify what happened.
The investigations made it possible to identify and arrest the alleged perpetrator. The man is attributed with an alleged crime of animal abuse and another of robbery with force on things.
The detainee, together with the proceedings instructed, has been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
