La Civil Guard has arrested three men between 22 and 30 years old in Monzón as alleged perpetrators of 46 crimes committed between April and mid-August. The arrested, residents of the town, are also attributed with an alleged crime of belonging to a criminal group.
The investigation began in April after several robberies inside vehicles parked on public roads and in commercial establishments in Monzón. The Roca de Barbastro Team, with the support of members of the Monzón Post, analyzed the different events and concluded that they could be related to the same people.
According to the Civil Guard, the group acted in a coordinated manner and mainly during the night. The suspects allegedly forced vehicles to steal objects from inside and also accessed shops after forcing the doors. In other cases, they would have taken advantage of the workers’ carelessness to take different effects.
A WAREHOUSE OF STOLEN PARTS IN MONZÓN ITSELF
After identifying the alleged perpetrators and gathering evidence about their participation, the agents established a device on August 17 in Monzón that ended with the arrest of the three suspects. In addition, they located a home in the town where, according to the investigation, they stored part of the stolen objects before selling them among acquaintances.
The detainees, of Spanish and Moroccan nationalities and with police records, are charged with 14 alleged crimes of robbery with force and 32 of theft, in addition to the crime of belonging to a criminal group. During the operation, tools, drill bits, an oil bottle, battery chargers, sunglasses, V-16 beacons and a humidity meter were recovered. The Civil Guard is keeping the investigation open to identify its owners and proceed with its return.
