‘Duca’, one of the stars of the Real Zaragoza Magnificent era, dies

The club has announced the death of the former white striker, at the age of 92, who was part of the team that lifted the Fairs Cup and the Spanish Cup in 1964

The Real Zaragoza has announced the death of Adrualdo Barbosa Da Silva, better known as ‘Duca‘, at the age of 92. The former player of the white club had the honour of beingthe first Brazilian in history to wear the shirt of the Aragonese team and was part of one of the most successful eras of the Zaragoza entity. 

The striker was in the Aragonese capital between 1958 and 1965 being one of the stars of the Los Magníficos stage. With the white club he scored 39 goals in 123 games and lifted the Spanish Cup in 1964 and the Fairs Cup in the same season. 

In addition, he also has the honour of being the first goalscorer in the history of Real Zaragoza in European competitions scoring the second goal, the first was an own, in the 0-2 victory against Northern Irish Glentoran F.C. Duca arrived in the Aragonese capital from Flamengo and went to Mallorca in 1965, a club where he ended up retiring.
