[EN] Alert for strong storms in Aragon: these are the areas on orange warning

Aragon looks to the sky this Saturday before a particularly complicated afternoon due to the arrival of storms and intense rains, which may affect a large part of the Community. The episode will begin to gain strength from early afternoon and has led 112 Aragón to activate orange warnings in several areas of Huesca and Zaragoza, in addition to yellow warnings in other parts of the three provinces.

The areas with the highest risk of storms will be the south of Huesca, Cinco Villas and the Ribera del Ebro, where the orange warning will be active between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The Huesca Pyrenees and the center of Huesca will also be at orange level between 4:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. In the Iberian region of Zaragoza and the Bajo Aragón region of Teruel, the warning will be yellow from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

THE RAINS ALSO PUT ARAGON ON ALERT

The episode will also be accompanied by rainfall that may be intense in a short time. The south of Huesca and the Ribera del Ebro will be on orange warning for rain between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., while the center of Huesca and the Huesca Pyrenees will remain on yellow warning from 4:00 p.m. until the end of the day.

Cinco Villas, the Iberian Zaragoza and Bajo Aragón will also have the yellow warning for rain active between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. In view of this situation, the Government of Aragon recommends avoiding unnecessary journeys during the most intense moments and, if necessary, reducing speed, increasing the safety distance and taking extreme care of possible accumulations of water on the road.

It is also advisable not to stay in open areas during storms, stay away from trees and structures that may detach and avoid ravines, riverbeds and points susceptible to flooding. The 112 Aragón maintains the monitoring of the episode and the possible incidents that may occur during the day.
