The torrential rains have hit Tarragona hard during the early hours of this Saturday, leaving eleven people injured and around 400 evacuated. The storm has especially affected municipalities such as El Vendrell, Roda de Berà, Creixell and Torredembarra, where significant amounts of water have accumulated in a few hours.
According to data from the Medical Emergency System (SEM), among those affected is a 17-year-old girl who remains in critical condition after a wall fell in Roda de Berà. His parents have also been injured, one of them seriously.
The intensity of the rainfall has also forced the evacuation of about 300 people from a campsite and a hundred young people who were in a nightclub in Coma-ruga. The emergency services have also had to intervene to help people trapped in vehicles and attend to dozens of incidents related to floods, landslides and damage to infrastructure.
The storm has also left roads flooded and problems on several Rodalies lines, although part of the railway service has been able to recover during the morning. Civil Protection keeps the alert of the Inuncat plan activated and has asked for extreme caution, especially near rivers, ravines and other flood zones, given the possibility that heavy rains will continue during the next few hours.
