The storms accompanied by hail, water and strong winds hit the Lower Aragón this Sunday. In a period of half an hour around six in the afternoon in Maella 22 liters of water fell and in Caspe around 10 and 12 liters.

A resident of Caspe says that the storm was very intense both in the town and in the fields where this Monday farmers are assessing the damage. However, he values that the effects it could have caused were minor since the hail was of small diameter and was accompanied by water.

Intense rainfall with hurricane-force winds and hail was also recorded in Alcañiz. The main effects occurred on the roads of the town that were flooded, as indicated by the City Council, who points out that there was no serious incident. Accumulated rainfall was expected to be around 30 to 40 liters per square meter

The Firefighters of the Provincial Council of Teruel only had a warning during this Sunday. The officers had to cordon off the area of the Gállego bar on Avenida Zaragoza due to the fall of debris due to the storm.

During this day, several weather warnings were registered in different areas of Aragon for storms, including the orange warning in the Ribera del Ebro and the yellow in Bajo Aragón. In addition, the Government of Aragon activated the alert phase of the Special Civil Protection Plan for Adverse Weather Phenomena (Procifemar).
