The Aragonese capital is already beginning to look askance at the Fiestas del Pilar. Although there are still a few weeks left for the city to dress up for festivities and many residents to return from their summer holidays, the Zaragoza City Council is already preparing one of the moments that will mark the countdown: the official presentation of the Fiestas del Pilar 2026, which will take place on September 23, three weeks before they officially begin, from Saturday 10 to Sunday 18 October.
The event will be held in the Hypostyle Room of the Zaragoza Auditorium and will be accompanied by an institutional cocktail for authorities, representatives, sponsors, media, cultural agents and guests. In this sense, the Zaragoza consistory has already put this service out to tender, with a maximum budget of 9,680 euros, which must have a mandatory Aragonese seal with protected designations of origin and geographical indications, as well as producers of the land.
Beyond the protocol act, the date will serve to put all the pieces on the table and know the complete program of the festivities that have already begun to be revealed. The Espacio Zity, for example, has been one of the first to confirm all its nights and names, but one of the great unknowns has yet to be discovered: the concerts that will occupy the Plaza del Pilar, the epicenter of the celebration during those nine days.
September 23 will therefore be a kind of starting signal for the final stretch towards El Pilar. And it will be at that moment when Zaragoza residents and tourists will be able to have before them, and surely also in their hands with the traditional festival programs, the complete picture of a few days that will once again fill streets and squares with a festive atmosphere.
