The historic premiere of the Calamocha in Segunda RFEF will not be able to take place at home with the support of its people. The Calamochino team, which will face the new category this season after achieving promotion last season by finishing first in the Tercera RFEF, has confirmed that it will have to play its first league match at home away from the Jumaya Football Field due to the remodelling works that are being carried out in its stadium.
In this way, Calamocha will host Terrassa F.C. at the Pedro Sancho Stadium in Zaragoza, located within the facilities of the Royal Aragonese Football Federation. The match will be played on Sunday, September 6 at 12:00 p.m. and will be the first match in the history of Calamocha in the Second Federation.
It will be, therefore, a historic premiere with a different scenario than expected. The works in Jumaya, which began at the end of last June in order to replace the current layer of natural grass with a completely new one of artificial turf, will prevent fans from experiencing the team’s debut in the fourth category of Spanish football in Calamocha. Despite this, the club is confident that the situation is only temporary.
Since, the intention of the Calamochino team is that Jumaya can be prepared for the next home match against the reserve team of U.D. Logroñés and thus return to their municipality as soon as possible. Calamocha will face one of the biggest challenges in its history this season and hopes that the passage through Zaragoza will be just a brief stop before being able to enjoy the Second Federation at home.
