The Diputación de Zaragoza will act on almost twenty roads in the province in the coming years. This has been unanimously approved this Tuesday in the extraordinary plenary session of the institution, in which they have voted in favor of the tender of 17 works onas many provincial roads included in the 2024-2031 program of actions of the institution.
After the approval of the plenary, the calls will go out to public tender for their subsequent award. These are three comprehensive refurbishments and 14 road reinforcement works. The three roads that are going to be completely renovated are the CV-607 from Castejón de Valdejasa to Tauste, the CV-817 from Maluenda to Olvés and the CV-310 access to Sediles. Road reinforcement works will also be put out to tender on 14 roads that run throughout the province.
The Provincial Council of Zaragoza will soon put out to tender the comprehensive conditioning of these 3 provincial roads for a budget of seven million euros. The work will be carried out on a total of 18 kilometers and will be carried out during next year and the next.
ZP-1201 FROM CASTEJÓN DE VALDEJASA TO TAUSTE
The refurbishment of the ZP-1201 from Castejón de Valdejasa to Tauste has a budget of 3.2 million euros and an execution period of 16 months. The works will be carried out along almost nine kilometres, from kilometre point 9,200 to 18,115. The works will consist of widening the width of the lanes to 3.25 meters and the shoulders to 0.25 meters.
In addition, longitudinal drainage will be improved and the curve radii will be increased to a minimum of 350 metres, thus improving the visibility, fluidity and safety of the road. The current grade of the road will also be raised slightly, since at several points of the route the grade is below the adjoining farms, which will improve both visibility and longitudinal drainage.
Finally, to cross the Barranco de Mira, it has been decided to join the two straight alignments by means of a single curve with a radius of 800 meters, slightly adjusting one of the alignments to allow the connection and a new structure will be built to save the Barranco de Mira, with a length of 40 meters, formed by two piers and prefabricated beams.
ZP-4303 FROM MALUENDA TO OLVÉS AND ZP-4304 FROM ACCESS TO SEDILES
The refurbishment of the ZP-4303 from Maluenda to Olvéshas a budget of 2.1 million euros and an execution period of 16 months. The works will be carried out along six kilometers, from kilometer point 0.400 to 6.600. The works will consist of the widening of the road, the reinforcement of the road surface and the renovation of the signage. In addition, the width of the bridge over the Jiloca River will be extended.
The refurbishment of the ZP-4304 access to Sediles has a budget of 1.6 million euros and an execution period of 16 months. The works will be carried out along three kilometers. The works will consist of improving the route of the road and widening the road to 7 meters, reinforcement of the road surface and renovation of both horizontal and vertical signage and a safety barrier will be installed in the urban section.
REINFORCEMENT OF THE ROAD SURFACE ON 14 PROVINCIAL ROADS
Likewise, the plenary session has unanimously approved the works to reinforce the pavement of 14 provincial roads. They will go out to tender divided into five lots coinciding with the five areas into which the provincial road map is divided according to the program for 2024-2031. They add up to a total of 68 kilometres and a budget that exceeds 10 million euros.
These arethe ZP-1502 from Salvatierra to Castillonuevo, the ZP-1303 from Asín to Orés, the ZP-2502 access to Fayón, the ZP-2205 from Gelsa to Alborge, the ZP-2304 access to Almochuel, the ZP-2204 access to Almonacid de la Cuba; the ZP-3307 from Miedes to Maninar; the ZP-3401 from Gallocanta to Tornos; the ZP-3301 from Herrera to Villar de los Navarros; the ZP-3403 from Llumes to Used; the ZP-4307 from Morata to Morés; the ZP-4505 from Monreal to Alconchel de Ariza; the ZP-4202 access to Salillas and the ZP-5305 from Borja to Cunchillos.
WORKS AWARDED ON FOUR OTHER ROADS
With the tender for these 17 works, the Zaragoza Provincial Council continues to comply with the provisions of the road action programme approved in 2024. Since the launch of the program, the DPZ has invested more than 24 million in the improvement of its roads, by the end of 2026 it will approach 30 and in 2027 it will break all records with another 20 million in a single year.
Recently, the works of four other provincial roads have been awarded: the ZP-3301 from Villar de los Navarros to the provincial border with Teruel; the ZP-4502 from Torrehermosa to Santa María de Huerta; the ZP-4311 from Oseja to Calcena and the ZP-3303 from Lechón to Anento. The works will begin soon and have been awarded for a budget of more than 8 million euros.
OTHER MATTERS DISCUSSED IN THE PLENARY
The session began with a minute’s silence for the firefighter of the Provincial Fire Extinction Service of the Provincial Council of Zaragoza who died last week in the fire of a workshop in Calatorao.
In addition, during the session, the deputy of the Popular Party Ángel Noé Latorre took office and a budget modification for the Agenda 2030 plan was also unanimously approved, a step prior to its final approval.
