Ibercaja has reinforced its financing to companies during the first half of 2026. Between January and June, the bank granted €2,954.4 million in loans, credits and leasing linked to business activity, a figure that represents almost 65% of all the new financing formalised by its branch network.

Within this area, credit for non-real estate companies is particularly noteworthy, growing by 11.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and has become one of the main drivers of Ibercaja’s credit business.

CREDITS THAT BOOST COMPANIES

The figure reflects the boost that the Bank has been giving to the segment of companies, SMEs and the self-employed in its latest strategic plans, and places this business at the heart of the growth of performing loans, which at the end of June amounted to 31,382 million euros, 4.2% more than twelve months earlier.

«Business financing is today the cornerstone of our growth and will continue to be so. Supporting companies that invest and create jobs is the most direct way for a bank to contribute to the real economy, and there we want to continue gaining weight with specialized teams and decisions close to the customer,» says Teresa Fernández Fortún, Director of the Business Banking Area of Ibercaja Banco.

Thanks to this intense activity, Ibercaja has increased the balance of normal loans in non-real estate companies by 7.3% year-on-year in the first half of the 2026 financial year, doubling the growth rate of the system in this segment.

PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES, ALMOST HALF OF THE CREDIT FOR NEW PRODUCTION

The financing of productive activities (excluding real estate development) amounted to 2,042 million euros in the first half of 2026 and represents 44.7% of new production in the first half of the year. Of these, 1,902 million were formalized in loans and credits and 140 million through leasing.

To this figure are added 844 million euros allocated to real estate development, 18.5% of the total. The rest of the new production is distributed between financing to households and other purposes, including 101 million euros corresponding to the public sector.

MORTGAGE CREDIT GROWS BY 5.3%

Mortgage loan formalisations for the acquisition of housing reached 1,298 million euros between January and June, 28.4% of new production in the period, with a growth of 5.3% year-on-year. 60% of this new lending has been concentrated in Madrid and the Mediterranean Arc, in line with the Bank’s focus on its expansion areas. Consumer financing and renting totalled 251 million euros in the first half of the year; The balance of this portfolio grew by 6.5% year-on-year.
