The Sounds in Nature Festival celebrates this Friday its 200th concert in its seven years of history; the one offered by the Burgos band El Nido at the Finca Valonga, in Belver de Cinca. The event of the Provincial Council of Huesca closes the month of August with a tour of Bajo Cinca and Monegros. On Saturday, the Peruvians Alejandro and María Laura in Fraella (Grañén) and on Sunday the Catalan group Terrae in the La Sierra de Ballobar Forest Park, one of the most traditional spaces of the festival.
The young itinerant festival of the Huesca Provincial Council, the Sounds in Nature Festival, SoNna Huesca, reaches this Friday the 200th concert in its seven years of history. The seventh edition of the festival, which began at the CDAN in Huesca on July 4, faces its ninth weekend of the summer with a mini tour of the Bajo Cinca and Monegros regions. Specifically, it will consecutively visit Belver de Cinca, Fraella (Grañén) and Ballobar.
FINCA VALONGA IN BELVER DE CINCA
The first date arrives on Friday at the Finca Valonga (Belver de Cinca), where the protagonists of the 200th concert of the SoNna Huesca will be the Burgos band of El Nido. The band presents their new LP «La Constancia» at the SoNna Huesca. An absolutely unique vision of traditional Castilian music from modern eyes and ears, maintaining its vital, moving and increasingly daring essence. Their approach to folklore is much more palpable and original than in their previous album; agudillos, jotas de ronda, ajechaos, charros and other traditional dance rhythms continue to flood their music.
El Nido emerged at the University of Salamanca. Eneko Lecumberri (direction and vocals), Rodrigo Antón (guitar), Nacho Prada and Álvaro Herreros (violin and flute) met there. The passion for the lands of Castilla y León, the love of tradition and the dream of a small group of friends from Burgos are the three ingredients behind El Nido.
SOURCE OF FRAELLA’S MEMORIES
The next day, the Sounds in Nature Festival will turn west to move to the Fuente de los Recuerdos de Fraella, in the municipality of Grañén. There the Spanish-Peruvians Alejandro Ribas and María Laura Bustamante, known as Alejandro and María Laura, will make their debut at the SoNna Huesca. Restless and nostalgic explorers, their music is a mixture of indie and pop rhythms with a slight touch of folklore, generating a unique and genuine bucolic naturalism.
Alejandro and María Laura are a duo from Peru, based in Paiporta, Valencia. Their fifth studio album, Dos Hemisferios, was nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy for Best Singer-Songwriter Album. The double album features 20 songs and collaborations with El Kanka, Muerdo, Zoe Gotusso, Alex Ferreira, La Lá, Renata Flores and Milena Warthon.
TERRAE EN BALLOBAR
The closing of the weekend is in charge of the Catalans Terrae in the Forest Park La Sierra de Ballobar. Terrae is a journey downstream through the stories and cultural heritage of the Terres de l’Ebre; an amalgam of sounds, rhythms and songs that exude the love for landscapes, for a river and for a land. Andreu Peral and Genís Bagés pay tribute to the place that has seen them grow up, the lands of the Ebro.
Terrae brings us stories of its people, a humble and hard-working people, always firm. The group understands tradition as something alive and in constant transformation; their proposal combines past and present, where synthesizers, voice effects, loops and samplers dialogue with the most primitive sounds: voice and percussion. Nostre gra (our grain), their first full-length album, is the talented and peculiar imprint, the speech of a territory, the voice of customs.
