Prime Video has found in the literary adaptations one of its great bets in recent years. After the success of series such as «Off Campus» or «Maxton Hall» and films such as «Boulevard» or «My Fault», the platform is once again looking at the youth phenomenon, betting on stories that have conquered its readers and that are now making the leap to the screen.
Next month the focus is on «The Love Hypothesis», one of Ali Hazelwood’s best-known novels and one of those titles that have been on the radar of his fan community for some time. The film, starring Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman, will arrive exclusively on Prime Video on September 23 and, less than a month before its premiere, the platform has just released its long-awaited official trailer.
The story is based on a premise that is as simple as it is irresistible to any fan of romantic novels: a fake relationship between two scientists that, as often happens in these cases, begins to get complicated when feelings stop following the rules. The new trailer allows us to see how Prime Video has transferred to the screen the chemistry of its protagonists and some of the most anticipated moments by readers, including some of the most commented scenes of the novel.
SYNOPSIS OF «THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS»
«The Love Hypothesis» follows Olive Smith (Lili Reinhart), a PhD student trying to make her way in academia. When she discovers that her best friend is interested in Jeremy, the boy she likes, Olive decides to show her that she’s already moved on and, on an impulse, kisses Adam Carlsen (Tom Bateman), a professor known for his intimidating nature.

What could have remained a kiss without consequences ends up becoming a fictitious relationship. Olive and Adam have their own reasons for pretending to be together and establish a series of rules to keep appearances in check. The problem comes when the chemistry between the two begins to feel too real and what began as an experiment is no longer so easy to control.
OFFICIAL TRAILER OF «THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS» ON PRIME VIDEO
The trailer published by Prime Video makes it clear that «The Love Hypothesis» bets on all the ingredients that made Ali Hazelwood’s novel a success: romance, humor, a relationship of convenience that gets complicated and the tension between two characters who, in theory, should not end up together. A new literary bet on the platform that aspires to be one of the great romantic premieres in streaming to say goodbye to the summer and also conquer those who still do not know the story of Olive and Adam.
