The residents of Zaragoza will be able to access again this Wednesday at the municipal swimming pools by paying the entrance fee at half price. The Zaragoza City Council has announced a new activation of the Municipal Emergency Plan (Pemuz) by heat waves at orange level, which will be in force until 11:59 p.m. this Wednesday, July 15, after the update of the forecasts of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The reactivation of the plan again implies the application of the measures planned for this type of episode, including the reduction of the price of tickets for municipal swimming pools. Thus, adults will pay 2.5 euros at the box office, compared to the usual 4 euros, while minors, over 65s and pensioners will pay 2 euros.
It should be taken into account, in any case, that the duration of the activation may be modified, extended or deactivated earlier than planned depending on the evolution of the weather forecasts. If an extension is not announced, the Pemuz will be automatically deactivated at the end of the day on Wednesday.
CLIMATE SHELTERS AND MEASURES AGAINST HEAT
Along with the discount on swimming pools, the rest of the device planned to deal with high temperatures remains operational, with climate shelters distributed throughout the city, public fountains and other spaces set up to alleviate the effects of the heat.
The forecasts of the Aemet continue to point to very high temperatures in Zaragoza, so the authorities insist on the importance of staying hydrated, avoiding exposure to the sun during the central hours of the day and taking extreme precautions with the most vulnerable people.
