The National Police has arrested eleven foreign citizens for an alleged crime of document forgery after using falsified lease contracts to fraudulently obtain the registration in different homes of Huesca.

The investigation is part of an operation carried out by the Provincial Brigade of Foreigners and Borders of Zaragoza, which had already made it possible to dismantle a criminal organisation specialising in the falsification of documentation for the regularisation of migrants. As a result of these actions, the agents located several allegedly irregular registrations in the capital of Huesca.

THREE DWELLINGS USED FOR THE REGISTRATION

The investigations made it possible to detect three homes in Huesca for which the investigated had drawn up falsified rental contracts, simulating the participation and consent of the legitimate owners of the properties. This documentation was later presented to process the registration in the municipal register.

During the checks carried out by agents of the Huesca Foreigners Brigade and the Huesca Local Police, it was found that the owners were unaware that their homes were being used for thefraudulent registration of foreigners in an irregular situation. In addition, their personal data had been used and their signatures had been forged to draw up completely false rental contracts.

OWNERS WERE UNAWARE OF THE USE OF THEIR DATA

The agents also verified that none of the registered foreigners resided in those homes. In some cases it was the habitual residence of the owners and, in others, properties that were under renovation work.

As a result of the investigation, agents of the Provincial Brigade of Foreigners and Borders of Zaragoza have arrested eleven foreigners for an alleged crime of document forgery and have referred the proceedings to the competent judicial authority.
