In the absence of finalizing details, the shareholding of the Real Zaragoza is clearly divided. This way of proceeding, that of transparency, if it is here to stay, is important, since the opacity with the previous property has been total. The idea is that A.Gain will keep 60% of the shareholding and that Juan Forcén, together with Jorge Mas, will control 40%.
To get to this point, two obstacles need to be overcome. On the one hand, that the process culminates. There are always issues that go slower and need third-party approvals. Right now, Real Zaragoza is at that point, even if the parties involved are on the same page.
The other is a capital increase. A. Gain will control, if all goes according to plan, 75% of the shareholding in the coming months. However, before the end of the year, it will become 60% after an investment by Jorge Mas together with Juan Forcén.
AITKENHEAD’S VISION
A.Gain CEO Bobby Aitkenhead has defined the Real Zaragoza as his most important project. «We had been chasing it for many years,» he said in his first appearance as head of the investment fund.
«We want to do something different, in the long term. We are going to work to return Real Zaragoza to where it deserves,» he said. In his program he gives great importance to the quarry, where he guarantees investment, and they are not going to take «shortcuts» in the project.
«The people who are here are for much more than a season. It is a project,» said the new executive director of the group that already controls the Real Zaragoza.
