He has relatively overlooked the penultimate chapter between Ander Herrera and the Real Zaragoza when the last one was held. This is the one of his return, totally opposite to that of his frustrated return two seasons ago. The midfielder has only thrown a ‘dart’ about that situation: «That’s how you are convinced».
He is convinced, explained Ander Herrera, with the call from the Real sporting director Zaragoza, Lalo Arantegui, considering him important in the project. So did the director and shareholder Juan Forcén, as well as the coach, Ibai Gómez, with whom he has an important friendship, and other members of the current ownership.
«That’s how you are convinced. At Real Zaragoza I go for free. I don’t understand categories, I understand project and affection,» said the midfielder.
A DREAM
«It was in my plans to return. A dream is coming true,» said Ander Herrera on his return to Real Zaragoza. The midfielder returns to what was once his home in a presentation full of references to the Zaragoza feeling, where he has also assumed a reality: «Total consensus is impossible».
Ander acknowledged that it is not a return as he expected. It is missing La Romareda and for Real Zaragoza to be – at least – in professional football. However, he has dreamed big. «I want that, in ten or fifteen years, we will be where the club deserves: fighting for titles. If we are, I would have liked to have done my bit,» he said.
Of course, his signing does not please everyone. There are those in favor and, in the same way, opponents. «Total consensus is impossible, but I have felt the affection of the people and it is reciprocal. I take it as part of my profession,» he said.
THE COSMETIC
The midfielder is «a life project», but he considers that the first objective is to beat Nástic de Tarragona on matchday 1. To do so, «maximum responsibility», because you have to respect the opponent in the First RFEF. It does not mean that Real Zaragoza’s objective, as it cannot be otherwise, is promotion.
«A sports plot, a squad, a new property that wants to give identity and roots… The ingredients are exciting,» said Ander Herrera on his arrival at Real Zaragoza.
