The second weekend of Pirineos Sur 2026 started last night in style, with all tickets sold to see two of the most recognized Spanish roots rock groups of the moment: La M.O.D.A. and Sanguijuelas del Guadiana. More than 4,500 fans came to Lanuza to vibrate with his energetic songs.
The night was opened by Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, which with only one album, «Revolá», and just two years after its formation, have already conquered a fervent legion of followers and filled large venues. The band from Casas de Don Pedro achieved it thanks to their original mix of rock and their own concept of verbena. So it is not surprising that the concert became a great party with irresistible songs such as 100 amapolas, Septiembre, Jaribe or the one that gives its title to its debut.
The Wonderful Alcohol Orchestra already knew what it is like to dazzle the public of the South Pyrenees, as evidenced by their remembered performance in 2022, in which they gave free rein to their expertise when it came to mixing rock, punk and folk. This Thursday they came to present their recent work, San Felices, in which they delve into that style that has elevated them to success, although adding new palettes of sounds and lyrics closer to their land.
Well uniformed, with their characteristic white shirts and with an excellent line-up that includes accordion, banjo or mandolin, as well as the classic rock band instruments, they developed a seamless setlist in which their new compositions («Alsa pa Madrid», «Los tiempos que vivimos», «No te necesito para ser feliz»…), coexist with some of their classics («Mil demonios», «A song not to say I love you»…). But the most energetic and sung moments came at the end of their show, with «1932», «Héroes del Sábado» and «Mañana voy a Burgos». Another undeniable success for the Burgos.
The emotion has reached one of its high points with «Hay un fuego dentro», when La M.O.D.A. has invited Sanguijuelas del Guadiana to take the stage. The meeting has symbolized the link between two bands that, from different places and trajectories, share the same way of understanding music: projects that emerged from the garages, deeply linked to their roots and have become today two of the greatest exponents of contemporary rural folk. And their collaboration did not end there, because the end of the concert has closed with the members of La M.O.D.A. and Sanguijuelas del Guadiana throwing themselves together into the Lanuza reservoir.
NATIONAL KALEIDOSCOPE AND THE GREAT SHOW OF RUBÉN BLADES
The great stylistic variety of the South Pyrenees will also be very present in the second weekend of the festival. After the festive concerts of La M.O.D.A. and Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, tonight two of the most powerful national female names of the moment will perform: Judeline and Samuraï. And they are joined by Elem, one of the artists who are standing out the most in Zaragoza, with an energetic and introspective pop.
Tomorrow, also sold out, Hens and Dani Fernández will arrive, two artists capable of turning their live shows into authentic generational anthems. On Sunday 19, Pirineos Sur will add the presence of another of the international stars of this edition, Rubén Blades together with the Roberto Delgado Big Band.
That same day will also be Monsieur Periné, one of the most recognizable Colombian bands of recent Latin American music, thanks to a proposal that mixes jazz, pop and swing with Latin rhythms from a luminous and playful identity. The afternoon will be opened by the Cuban and protagonist of the new Latin urban pop Melanie Santiler, a combination that will bring charisma, elegance and an international dimension to the festival.
