[EN] Pedro Baranda, councillor and resident of Uncastillo: «The main concern is when we will be able to return home»

The residents of the town of Cincoville have had a very complicated night

The region of the Cinco Villas is being punished as never before by a fire that has already burned 12,000 hectares and continues to advance without the extinguishing teams being able to control it. Orés, Asín, Luesia, Malpica de Arba and Uncastillo remain evacuated and the six roads A-1204-CV813, A-1202, CV-841, CV-628 and CV-850 remain closed to traffic.

The work has focused tonight on the defense of the towns of Malpica de Arba and Uncastillo. The latter population has experienced «a really complicated night» in which «the strong wind has driven the firefighting teams crazy». This is how Pedro Baranda, councilor and resident of Uncastillo, defines the current situation, who is being one of the people who is worrying about the residents of the town of Cincoville having the drink in the best possible way.

Most of them have spent the night in the pavilion of Ejea after this Thursday at noon they had to leave the municipality with practically nothing on their backs. «I have been for a while how the neighbors had slept. They have slept «regular», because many are older people and are not used to being away from home,» explains Pedro Baranda.

From the City Council of Uncastillo it is assured that it is very attentive to attend, «with the means we have», mainly to farmers. «We are supplying them with water and food because things are very complicated,» says Baranda.

CONSTANT WORRY

In addition, it exposes the nervousness and uneasiness that the inhabitants of Uncastillo are having to face during the last 24 hours.  «The spirits are as they are. You can imagine it even without being there. People ask a lot when we will be able to return to the village because that is the main concern right now,» he says in a worried tone.

He is not yet able to say when that long-awaited return will take place. In fact, he is far from optimistic about the short term. «Seeing the dimensions of the matter, it is going to be a long time,» he assesses.
