The The Government of Aragon has asked citizens to avoid travelling this weekend to the areas near the forest fire declared in the municipality of Orés, in the region of Cinco Villas, except in cases of strict necessity. The measure aims to facilitate extinguishing work and allow emergency teams to work with maximum efficiency in a particularly complex environment.
It should be remembered that according to the latest update from the Government of Aragon, the fire in the Cinco Villas has already destroyed 12,000 hectares after the flames have advanced considerably due to the strong gusts of wind that have hit the area last night. The towns of Orés, Asín, Luesia, Malpica de Arba and Uncastillo remain evacuated and six roads closed: A-1204-CV813, A-1202, CV-841, CV-628 and CV-850.
A GREAT DEVICE DEPLOYED
A large operation is working on the ground with around 450 troops and more than 30 air assets. On the part of the Infoar, six helicopter brigades, twelve ground brigades, eleven fire trucks, five bulldozers, and a coordination helicopter are working on the ground.
The Ministry for Ecological Transition has mobilised four light helicopters, one medium helicopter, three Forest Fire Reinforcement Brigades and a coordination plane. Two seaplanes and two light aircraft will also be incorporated.
The UME has deployed three sections with 18 fire trucks, two helicopters and two bulldozers. Also part of the device are twelve wet nurses and two forest pumps from the Provincial Council of Zaragoza, the firefighters of the City of Zaragoza and media from Navarra, Castilla y León, La Rioja and the Valencian Community.
The work is focused on the defense of the towns of Malpica de Arba and Uncastillo, as commented by the Minister of Finance, Roberto Bermúdez de Castro. Work has also been done to contain the advance of the fire in the areas of greatest activity, producing reproductions at different points of the perimeter.
