The Los Bañales-Cinco Villas Foundation in Rome has announced the suspension of the guided tour scheduled for this Saturday, July 18, to the Roman site of Los Bañales as a result of the serious forest fire that affects the region of Las Cinco Villas.
The entity has expressed its solidarity with all the neighbors affected by the emergency. «All our solidarity with the people of the Cinco Villas and, in particular, with the residents of Uncastillo, municipality in whose territory our Roman city is located», point out from the foundation, which has also thanked the numerous expressions of interest received on the status of the archaeological campaign and the group of students participating in the excavations.
Despite the suspension of this weekend’s activity, the Foundation maintains the celebration of the Open Day scheduled for July 26, provided that the evolution of the fire allows it. During this meeting, it is planned to present the main advances and results of the current excavation campaign.
The Los Bañales-Cinco Villas Foundation in Rome is a private institution created to promote the conservation, research and dissemination of the Roman legacy in the region.
