It is hard to imagine the activity of a city centuries ago: instead of carriages, horse-drawn carriages would pass by; instead of uniformed policemen, gentlemen would walk around; and instead of bars, there would be taverns. In a few days, the city of Daroca will not have to use your imagination: the city will be immersed from July 24 to 26 in its traditional Medieval Fair.
The fair marks one of the most outstanding cultural and tourist events in the Aragonese calendar, recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest in Aragon. On the occasion of its twenty-fifth edition, the historic center will once again recreate the atmosphere of the Middle Ages for three days.
The town of Zaragoza will be transformed into a large open-air stage in which heritage, gastronomy and shows will go hand in hand to offer memorable days of the summer period. The program will include activities for all audiences with music, theater and circus shows, as well as other entertainment proposals that will take place throughout the weekend.
Calle Mayor, the main axis of the medieval market, will once again become the heart of the celebration. The fair will bring together more than 130 stalls, offering residents and visitors a wide sample of artisanal products from different parts of Spain. Its setting, together with the decoration of the streets and the continuous presence of period characters, will allow visitors to tour the market in an environment that recreates the atmosphere of medieval Daroca.
The Medieval Fair is one of the main tourist events in Daroca and is an important boost for the commercial, hospitality and cultural activity of the city, attracting thousands of visitors every year. With the celebration of this XXV edition, Daroca once again vindicates its extraordinary historical heritage and its close link with the medieval history of Aragon.
