One of the legends of the modern history of the Real Zaragoza is undoubtedly Alberto Zapater. Despite the fact that the player from Ejea de los Caballero left the Aragonese club three years ago, the midfielder always finds a way to mention the team of his heart. This time, Zapater was interviewed by ABC Deportes, a Paraguayan television network, in New York since the former captain will be present during the Spain-Argentina match.
Zapater, before analyzing both teams, told the reporter of the South American channel that «I played with Delio Toledo» because the Guaraní journalist did not know who ‘Zapa’ was. The Paraguayan left-back who was at Real Zaragoza for four seasons and who lifted the 2004 Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

The two coincided for three seasons when the midfielder began his professional career at Real Zaragoza and the left-back became lord and master of his position during his stay in the Aragonese capital. In addition, ‘Zapa’ told the reporter that «I think Delio was a World Cup player.» A totally correct fact since Toledo was part of the Guaraní team that played the 2006 World Cup in Germany playing a match in the match against England.
HIS ANALYSIS OF THE FINAL
Beyond Zaragoza’s anniversaries, Zapater analysed the two teams, making it clear that Spain’s identity passes «through the ball and from that we defend ourselves». For him «our two most unbalanced players (Pedri and Lamine) have not appeared, but Rodri is totally outstanding and Lamine is being important even if things are not going well for him».
On the other hand, the former captain of Zaragoza affirms that «Argentina plays with balls» and for him it is an important factor although he is very clear about what can really tip the balance for the albiceleste. «They have the best player in history (Leo Messi) and he is still the best every game and he does everything walking, imagine if he is good,» he said.
His final analysis is that «we are not going to beat the Argentines» and he is very clear that «it is going to be a very even final».
