The Government of Aragón has called on the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, to rectify the cut in judicial positions assigned to the community and recover the eleven initially planned. The regional executive denounces that Aragon has come to have only seven and considers that this is a «clearly unfavourable» treatment compared to the rest of the autonomous communities.
The Vice-President and Minister of the Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport, Mar Vaquero, has sent a letter to the minister in which she shows the «deep concern» and «absolute disagreement» of the Government of Aragon with a decision that, in her opinion, makes Aragon «the most affected community without any technical justification».
A «HARDLY JUSTIFIABLE» DECISION
According to the letter, the reduction of places «constitutes a new detriment to Aragon and is difficult to justify from objective criteria of need, workload or territorial balance». In addition, the Executive maintains that the measure «contradicts the planning process itself developed during the last months and represents a clearly unfavorable treatment for our Autonomous Community».
The vice-president also stresses that, in accordance with the approved Royal Decree, practically all the autonomous communities maintain the number of places initially planned, while Aragon bears the greatest reduction.
For Mar Vaquero it is also «especially worrying» that the final text of the Royal Decree «departs even from the technical needs previously identified by the General Council of the Judiciary and by the reports themselves that served as the basis for the initial planning».
