[EN] «Ash and Sowing», the new artistic and political project of the DPZ arrives in Ejea

The Provincial Council of Zaragoza exhibits from today Thursday at the Art and Exhibition Center of Ejea the artistic and political project «Ash and sowing», which can be visited until November 29.

La exposición permanecerá hasta el día 29 de noviembre

The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Citizens’ Assembly for Peace and curated by the multimedia artist Pilar Catalán, is part of the initiative «Stop wars. Artists for Peace», which brings together hundreds of Aragonese creators to vindicate the role of art as a tool for awareness, memory and defence of human rights.

The exhibition «Ash and Sowing» brings together 44 works of art, 44 texts and five audiovisual pieces, created by 40 artists from Aragón, who have generously donated their works to be used for auctions and solidarity sales. Through different languages of contemporary art, the works build a bridge to peace and solidarity, inviting reflection on the human consequences of armed conflicts and collective responsibility in the face of violence.

PROGRAMMING

During the months of September, October and November, the Ejea Art and Exhibition Centre will develop an extensive programme of interdisciplinary activities aimed at all audiences, which will include engraving, photography, artificial intelligence and virtual reality workshops, audiovisual projections and a series of conferences, promoting dialogue between art, thought and citizenship.

The Art and Exhibition Centre of Ejea is owned by the Diputación de Zaragoza and is one of the main showcases of current art in the province of Zaragoza and Aragon. It was inaugurated in 2016 with a clear vocation to promote and revitalize contemporary culture in the rural areas of Zaragoza. To this end, it has state-of-the-art facilities of more than 2,000 square meters spread over several floors articulated around a large central glazed courtyard of diaphanous and contemporary architecture.

The exhibition can be visited on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., until November 29.
