Zaragoza is already looking askance at October. Although there are still details to be confirmed, the Fiestas del Pilar 2026 are beginning to take shape with dates marked on the calendar, concerts announced, changes in the Offering of Flowers, traditional contests underway and official poster. The big days of the Aragonese capital will be held from October 10 to 18 and will once again fill the city with music, tradition, showsand mass events.
For now, the program is not yet closed, but there are already names, confirmed scenarios and some important news. From Espacio Zity to the Príncipe Felipe Pavilion, passing through the Palacio de Congresos, the Auditorium or the Plaza del Pilar, these are the keys that are already known about the next Fiestas del Pilar.
DATES: OCTOBER 10-18
The Fiestas del Pilar 2026 will begin on Saturday, October 10 with the traditional proclamation in the Plaza del Pilar. Regarding the town criers, nothing is known yet and, as usual, it will not be until a few months from now when it will be known. The big day, October 12, will fall on a Monday and the Offering of Fruits and the Crystal Rosary will arrive on Tuesday 13, while the final firecracker will close the festivities on Sunday, October 18.
CHANGES IN THE OFFERING OF FLOWERS
The Offering of Flowers will once again be one of the most important moments of the festivities and this year it comes with novelties in the organization. The Zaragoza City Council has already opened the period for groups to register, a procedure that can be carried out until 12:00 p.m. on September 1.
Groups made up of a minimum of 20 people linked to a public or private entity with a NIF, with a maximum of 200 members per registration, may participate. Entities that exceed that figure will have to be divided into several groups. In addition, the 2026 edition will incorporate random controls to check that the number of participants coincides with the declared number.
The Offering will begin at 6.30 a.m. on October 12 and will maintain the usual routes through Alfonso I and Don Jaime I, according to the assigned itinerary. Individual participation will continue to be free and will not require prior registration, although this year it will have a new route. Specific access is also provided for people with disabilities, reduced mobility or chronic diseases.
THE POSTER: «THE CITY IN OFFERING»
The Fiestas del Pilar 2026 already have an official image. The illustrator from Zaragoza Jesana Motilva has been the winner of the advertising poster contest with «The city in offering», a work that places the Offering of Flowers at the center of the composition.
The poster is starred by a large green bouquet from which some of the most recognizable symbols of the festivities and Zaragoza emerge, such as the Basilica del Pilar, the Tragachicos, the Pilara, the fireworks, the cachirulo and the flowers. Yellow is the predominant color of the proposal, a choice that the author linked to illusion and light.
ESPACIO ZITY ALREADY FILLS ITS LINE-UP
As every year, Espacio Zity will once again concentrate a good part of the great concerts of the Fiestas del Pilar. For now, the Valdespartera venue has already confirmed several names of very different styles.
Myke Towers will be one of the first big claims and will perform on October 9 at 9:00 p.m. Viva Suecia will arrive on October 10 at 10:00 p.m. and that same night Mälmo 040 will also perform. On Sunday 11 it will be the turn of Blackworks, one of the great events for techno lovers.
On October 13, Taburete, Álvaro de Luna and Hey Kid will share the bill. Two days later, on October 15, Saiko will perform, while on the 16th the Electrolatino Festival will arrive. On October 17, Zity’s program will close with Omar Courtz. An appointment with Love of Lesbian, Dorian and León Benavente has also been announced, with tickets at 35 euros and access included to the after-party at Espacio Zity.
VAN GOGH AND SERGIO DALMA’S EAR, IN PRINCE FELIPE
The Prince Felipe Pavilion will also have prominence in the upcoming festivities. La Oreja de Van Gogh will return to Zaragoza with Amaia Montero at the helm of the «So many things to tell» tour. The expectation has been such that the two dates announced, October 9 and 10, are already sold out.
A day later, on October 11, it will be the turn of Sergio Dalma, who will arrive in the Aragonese capital with «Ritorno a Via Dalma», the album with which he revisits some of the best-known Italian songs in recent history.
«THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA» ARRIVES AT THE PALACIO DE CONGRESOS
Musical theater will also have its space during the Pillars. From 8 to 18 October, the Palacio de Congresos will host «The Phantom of the Opera», one of the great titles of the genre and one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s best-known productions.Zaragoza will be one of the stops on the musical’s first Spanish tour.
Tickets are already on sale and prices start at 52 euros and go up to 77.50 euros.
FILM MUSIC AND RYAN ADAMS IN THE AUDITORIUM
The Auditorium of Zaragoza has also confirmed some appointments for the Fiestas del Pilar. The Sala Mozart will welcome the Royal Film Concert Orchestra with «The 10 Greats of Cinema», a concert dedicated to some of the most recognizable soundtracks in history.
In addition, on Thursday, October 15, Ryan Adams will perform as part of his «Ryan Adams Solo Europe 2026» tour, which will only pass through five Spanish cities. Zaragoza will be one of them.
TRADITIONAL COMPETITIONS: JOTA, ARAGONESE COSTUME AND FLOWERS
Beyond the big concerts, traditional competitions are also starting to move. The City Council of Zaragoza has published the rules of the CXL Official Contest of Jota Aragonesa, the XL Benjamín, Children’s and Youth Contest of Jota Aragonesa, the XI Contest of Flowers, Baskets and Floral Arrangements and the XIV Aragonese Costume Contest.
In the case of the jota contests, registrations will be made exclusively online from July 13 to 23. The qualifiers of the Official Contest will be held on September 19 and 20 in the Luis Galve Hall of the Auditorium, the semifinals will take place on October 3 and 4 and the grand final will be on October 11 in the Mozart Hall.
The Flower, Basket and Floral Arrangement Contest and the Aragonese Costume Contest will be held during the Flower Offering on October 12.
YOUTH LEISURE: THE VIRAL LIGHT PARTY IS BACK
The Fiestas del Pilar 2026 will also once again feature the Viral Light Party, a proposal aimed exclusively at young people between 14 and 17 years old. The appointment will be on October 11 in the Multipurpose Room of the Zaragoza Auditorium, between 7:00 p.m. and 00:00 a.m.
The ticket includes access to the venue, two non-alcoholic drinks and participation in the scheduled activities. This year there will be more music, animation, makeup, characterization, challenges, games and team dynamics. The first tickets went on sale for 6 euros, with subsequent prices of 8 euros in advance and 10 euros at the box office if there are seats left.
A PROGRAM STILL OPEN
All in all, the Fiestas del Pilar 2026 still have a lot to reveal. The full programme will arrive later and new concerts, street activities, family proposals, traditional events and details of some of the great festive spaces are still to be known. What is clear is that Zaragoza has already begun the countdown to its most anticipated days of the year.
