The municipal swimming pools in the Aragonese capital have launched more restrictive regulations this summer with the aim of improving coexistence and guaranteeing a quieter atmosphere in the facilities. The Zaragoza City Council has introduced several changes that especially affect alcohol consumption, the use of sound devices and access with scooters, bicycles and PMVs.

The main novelty is the limitation of the consumption of alcoholic beverages, which can only be done in the areas enabled for bar, cafeteria, ambigu and their terraces or attached pergolas. The council justifies this decision by the risks associated with alcohol consumption in aquatic and recreational spaces, especially due to the decrease in the ability to react to dangerous situations and the increase in reckless behavior in the water.

In addition, they remember that alcohol can alter the perception of risk, affect balance and hinder thermoregulation on days of high temperatures. According to the municipal area of Sports, it is also one of the main causes of conflicts and nuisances in public leisure spaces during the summer.

NO SPEAKERS OR SCOOTERS ON THE PREMISES

Another of the measures included in the new regulations is the prohibition of the use of speakers or audio devices that emit sound to the outside. They are only allowed in those activities that have express authorization from the organization or the Zaragoza City Council itself.

With this limitation, the council aims to promote an atmosphere of rest and relaxation in the common and bathing areas of the municipal swimming pools of Zaragoza, especially during the days of greatest influx.

The regulations will also prevent access to the facilities with scooters, bicycles and other personal mobility vehicles, even if they are folded or out of use. The only exception contemplated will be that of people with disabilities, who will be able to access with their support and mobility devices in accordance with current legislation on accessibility.
