The Plan forest fire presents a favorable evolution this Sunday after «a positive night», as reported by the Government of Aragón through Infoar. However, it cannot be considered stabilized and remains active, with a provisional affected area of about 80 hectares. The head and right flank have been contained, while the left flank is moving slowly. «The fire has evolved quite well, although the fall of incandescent material can cause new upward runs of the fire,» said the Minister of the Interior, Roberto Bermúdez de Castro, on Saturday.
The greatest difficulty that the extinguishing teams are facing, as the minister has remarked, is that it has occurred in a «very steep» area, which makes the work difficult. The orography is particularly complex, with slopes that exceed 100%, which can favour the fall of incandescent material down the slope. That is why, during the night and for the safety of the professionals, the ground personnel have withdrawn, although surveillance work has been maintained.
During the day on Saturday, five aerial means have been kept working in the area, which has allowed the evolution of the fire to slow down. Looking ahead to this Sunday, it is expected that, during the morning, the same air and land resources will be incorporated into the extinguishing work.
The Plan valley remains on preventive notice, without any evacuation having taken place, so that the population is informed of the evolution of the fire and can follow the official indications if necessary.
WEATHER FORECASTS
As for the weather, during the night very light northeasterly winds have been recorded, with gusts of about 8 kilometers per hour. During the morning the forecasts indicate that they will turn to the west, with a predominance of southwest during the afternoon and some gusts of up to 30 kilometers per hour.
From 9:00 p.m. it will again enter the northeast very weak. The relative humidity during the night has reached up to 80% and will drop during the central hours of the day to around 30%. No precipitation is expected and the maximum will be around 32 degrees.
