The relegation of <a href=»https://www.aragondigital.es/tags/deportivo-aragon/» target=»_blank»>Deportivo Aragón to the Tercera RFEF was clear that it was going to produce departures of homegrown players from the Real Zaragoza to other clubs so that their projection does not stop. This Friday it was announced that midfielder Iker García is leaving for Arenas de Getxo, a club in the Primera RFEF, on loan for one season.

It is true that a rival of the white team is not being reinforced because the Basque club competes in the other group of the category. Therefore, it is a good loan for both the player and the Real Zaragoza, since due to the number of midfielders who are in the first team, Iker García was not going to have minutes or almost no opportunities with Ibai Gómez.
In addition, the midfielder is already 23 years old, so he could only play with Real Zaragoza if he were to get a first-team contract and would occupy one of the 18 places available for players over 23 years of age.
A YEAR IN THE ACADEMY
Iker García arrived at Deportivo Aragón last summer from Lleida C.F. after having trained at Sant Andreu and Mataró.
The midfielder was important for Emilio Larraz despite the relegation and played 29 games adding 3 goals to his credit. Now it is his turn to show that he has a higher level and even opt to continue at Real Zaragoza in the future depending on his performance at the Arenas de Getxo.
