The Ebro Hydrographic Confederation (CHE) has warned of the possibility of sudden floods in minor channels and ravines of the Huesca Pyrenees during the afternoon of this Thursday, in view of the yellow warnings activated by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) for intense rains and storms.
The basin organization warns that the expected rainfall, which could leave up to 15 liters per square meter in an hour, could cause rapid increases in flow in small rivers, streams and ravines in Pyrenean areas, where this type of episode can generate risk situations in a very short time.
In view of this forecast, the CHE recommends that citizens exercise extreme caution and stay informed of the evolution of the meteorological and hydrological situation through the official channels of the State Meteorological Agency and the Automatic Hydrological Information System of the Ebro (SAIH Ebro).
It also recalls the importance of following the indications of the Civil Protection services at all times and avoiding activities in the vicinity of riverbeds, ravines and flood zones while the episode of instability persists.
