Zaragoza will celebrate a new edition Salón de Empleo, the most important event organized by the City Council to promote the search for job opportunities, this coming October 7. In this year’s first edition, held in March in the Multipurpose Room of the Auditorium, 1,000 job offers from 78 companies, institutions and entities were made available, which attracted 4,000 visitors, most of them looking for their first job or new job opportunities. 60% of the offers were covered thanks to this appointment.
Given the success of this event and the interest it generates, the mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, announced on Wednesday at the State of the City Debate that from now on a second edition will be held a year, thus betting on a format that works. «We have managed to insert more than 2,100 young people into the labor market thanks to Imefez and the Job Fair. 2,100 jobs covered,» Chueca said.
HOW THE EVENT WORKS
The staff of the entities and companies collect CVs and meet their candidates face to face in order to be able to subsequently launch the selection processes. Precisely, one of the most outstanding values of these companies is the need to fill the positions offered in the short and medium term.
For the first time, this spring’s event included sectoral talks in sectors with the highest demand for employment so that participants could learn more about the characteristics of each sector and thus be able to help them channel their search. Given the interest and reception, they will also be reinforced at the October Motor Show.
Some of the entities that participate represent a group of companies to which they belong, a business association or a cluster, so the number of jobs offered increases considerably (such as the Federation of Metal Companies of Zaragoza, Horeca, the National Association of Hairdressing, Aesthetics and Personal Image Entrepreneurs or Tecnara).
This meeting brings together companies located for some time in Zaragoza and others that, without being based in the city, trust in the talent incubator that is this city to incorporate it into their workforces. Even students or recent graduates, who are looking for a direct encounter with the Human Resources staff of the companies.
