Local commerce in Teruel will receive 500,000 euros for its modernization through FITE. The call, which will be published on July 24 in the Official Gazette of Aragon to finance up to 80% of investments in works, equipment, accessibility, digital marketing or e-commerce.
This program has been presented at the Teruel Chamber of Commerce by the general director of SMEs, Self-Employed, Domestic Trade and Consumption. Applications can be submitted between July 27 and August 24. A program that in 2025 attended to 69 applications with an average aid of 7,300 euros per company, consuming practically 100% of the budget.
The objective of the call is to improve the competitiveness of the sector from a clearly investment approach. For this reason, it subsidizes works and installations such as façade reforms, signs, awnings and canopies; accessibility actions, commercial furniture, cold rooms, point-of-sale terminals, management software, readers, digital scales, computer equipment for commercial management and digital marketing or e-commerce tools.
These grants are in addition to those already announced in April for commercial SMEs throughout the community. For Carmen Herrarte, «these grants for the province of Teruel, plus those of a month and a half ago for the whole of Aragon, represent a very important competitive advantage for local commerce in the province».
The call incorporates assessment criteria that connect commercial investment with the reality of the territory: the location of the company according to the Synthetic Index of Territorial Development; the age of the business; membership of the Consumer Arbitration Board; membership of business associations of commerce or integration into the network of Rural Multiservices. In cases of business change, previous seniority may be computed, thus reinforcing the continuity of businesses with roots in the territory.
For the director general, the 2026 call is «much more objective. There are a series of scales that allow the business that presents the aid to have a clear idea of the points it is going to have».

The specific line of FITE for Teruel’s commerce has been consolidated as a tool for direct support for business investment in a province in which commerce fulfills an economic and also territorial function: it maintains activity in the municipalities, facilitates access to basic services, contributes to fixing the population and reinforces daily life on the streets. neighborhoods and county seats.
