Although some may feel like they are living in a constant heat wave, the reality is that the second heat wave of the summer ended last week. Despite this, the intense heat has continued to hit the Community hard, activating the red alert of extraordinary danger this Wednesday in points such as the Ribera del Ebro and exceeding 40 degrees for several days. The situation, far from softening, will intensify for the weekend. The Aemet has issued a special warning informing of the arrival of «very intense heat» that could lead to the third heat wave of the summer.
«At the weekend, the establishment of a low to the west of the Iberian Peninsula will allow the entry of a mass of warm, dry air with suspended dust in much of Spain,» says the Aemet. For the time being, that intense heat will not be very different from what is already being recorded in the Community.
Thus, the Aemet has already activated for this Thursday the orange alert for maximum temperatures in the Ribera del Ebro with values that will touch 40 degrees, while in the rest of Aragon the yellow alert is active for temperatures between 36 and 38 degrees. Likewise, in the Pyrenees, the yellow alert for storms has been activated.
TEMPERATURES DROP ON FRIDAY… TO GO BACK UP
The forecast for this Friday is for a drop in temperatures, although they will still be above 35 degrees. There are only three areas of Aragon that will maintain the yellow alert for tomorrow, the south of Huesca, Bajo Aragón and the Ribera del Ebro. It is expected that by the weekend these will rise again, touching the barrier of 40 degrees.
As for the minimums, they will continue to be tropical nights and will range between 20 and 22 degrees.
