[EN] The King calls Azcón to inquire about the evolution of the Orés fire and to transfer his support to the operation

It has been Azcón himself who has confirmed the call through his social networks

King Felipe VI has contacted the President of the Government of Aragon this Friday, Jorge Azcón, to learn first-hand about the evolution of the fire affecting the region of Las Cinco Villas. During the conversation, the monarch also wanted to convey his support to all the troops working on the firefighting work.

It was Azcón himself who confirmed the call through his social networks, where he explained that the King was interested in the situation of the fire and wanted to «send encouragement to the entire extinguishing operation». The Aragonese president also thanked him, «on behalf of the Aragonese people», for this gesture, as well as «for all the signs of solidarity and affection» that the residents are «receiving in these hard times».

THE FIRE IS STILL OUT OF EXTINGUISHING CAPACITY

The fire is still out of extinguishing capacity, according to the latest balance sheet. The provisional area affected amounts to about 12,600 hectares and the perimeter reaches approximately 60 kilometers.

The work is focused this Friday on keeping resources deployed throughout the perimeter to try to consolidate it and ensure the protection of the villages. The air assets act mainly on the left flank (sector 5) and the right flank (sector 6), where the fire continues to advance.

The forecast suggests that during the central hours of the day the wind will blow from the southwest, which could favour the advance of the left flank. From 8:00 p.m. a new change of wind to the north is expected, with gusts of between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour, which could boost the advance of the right flank in the direction of Luesia.

MORE THAN 400 TROOPS AND 1,000 PEOPLE EVICTED

After three in the afternoon, more than 400 troops and about twenty air assets were working in the area.

At the moment, some 1,000 people remain evicted from the towns of Orés, Asín, Luesia, Malpica de Arba, Uncastillo and Petilla. In addition, the A-1204, CV-813, A-1202, CV-841 and CV-628 roads continue to be blocked. The electricity supply has already been restored in all the affected towns.
