[EN] The PP calls on the Government of Spain to undo the cut in the new judicial positions for Aragon

Its deputy spokeswoman, Elena Allué, stressed that all the technical reports supported the need to increase the judicial staff by eleven posts

The Popular Party has called on the Minister of Justice, Félix Bolaños, on Wednesday to rectify the reduction of new judicial positions to Aragón and restore the 11 initially planned. Its deputy spokesperson in the Parliament, Elena Allué, considers that the decision to finally grant seven places represents a «cut» and «discriminatory» treatment towards the Community.

Allué has defended that all the technical reports supported the need to expand the judicial staff and has demanded that the Ministry reverse the decision to provide Aragon with the 11 new positions planned.

THE PP THREATENS TO ASK FOR THE REPROBATION OF BOLAÑOS

The deputy spokeswoman has assured that the Government of Pedro Sánchez is still in time to correct a decision that he considers «unfair and discriminatory». «If they do not do so, we will take the issue to the Plenary of the Cortes and we will ask for the reprobation of Félix Bolaños for deliberately harming Aragon and for breaking the principle of equality».

Allué recalled that Aragon is, in his opinion, the autonomous community most affected by this distribution and criticized the fact that the reasons have not yet been explained. «The workloads are still the hardest, they have not changed. No judicial body has requested it, on the contrary, the assignment of only 7 new places is even far from the technical needs that the CGPJ had previously identified».

CRITICISM OF THE PSOE OF ARAGON

The popular deputy has also censured the «complicit silence» of the PSOE of Aragon and its secretary general, Pilar Alegría, for not pronouncing on this decision of the central government. According to Allué, the socialist leader «remains silent and continues not to defend the interests of the Aragonese people».

Finally, he assured that neither the Government of Jorge Azcón nor the PP will accept this «grievance», since «the Aragonese need an agile justice system with sufficient means», assuring thatthe Socialists «prefer a slow justice that does not resolve the dozens of corruption cases that they have pending».
