Few images will be as striking during the total eclipse in August of this year as the one of the Sun disappearing over the ruins of the Old Town of Belchite. The capital of the region Campo de Belchite, known for preserving one of the most impressive historical sites in Aragón, will be one of the municipalities where the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026 can be seen.
The steppe landscape that surrounds the town and the scarce cloud cover usually recorded at this time of year favour the observation of the phenomenon. All this makes Belchite a very attractive alternative for those looking for a different place from which to enjoy the eclipse August.
THE ECLIPSE FROM BELCHITE
The eclipse will begin at Belchite at 7:35:12 p.m., when the Moon begins to hide the solar disk. The phenomenon will last until 9.06.19 p.m., coinciding with the last minutes of daylight.
The most anticipated moment will come between 8:29:23 p.m. and 8:30:57 p.m., when the town will be immersed in totality for 94 seconds. At 8:30 p.m., approximately halfway through that interval, the maximum of the phenomenon will be reached, with the Sun completely hidden and 100% darkness, allowing you to enjoy the total eclipse 2026 in privileged conditions.
