After becoming official this Tuesday, the entry of A.GAIN as the new majority shareholder of the Real Zaragoza begins to take effect in the organizational chart of the white entity. In this way, and as confirmed in the presentation of the new investment group to the media, Guido Baroli has been appointed as the new general manager in a position that was exempt since the departure of Fernando López.
Former Argentine footballer, Baroli, who will be A.GAIN’s strong man within Real Zaragoza and is currently the CEO of Supernova Sports, is an executive specialized in the comprehensive management of sports organizations, with experience in general management, strategic planning, financial management, business development and operations linked to professional football.
A resident of Spain for three years, he has a degree in Business Administration, a master’s degree in Sports Marketing from the Real Madrid University School and a master’s degree in Sports Law from the University of Buenos Aires. He also has the qualification of sports director of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the FIFA club manager diploma.
SUCCESS IN ARGENTINA
Before joining Real Zaragoza as general manager, he was general manager of Defensa y Justicia, in Argentina, where he led the process of professionalization and institutional growth of the club. During his tenure he was in charge of sporting, financial and operational planning, budget preparation and control, the policy of incorporation and sale of players and the coordination of a team of more than 100 professionals. In that period, the club increased its commercial income, reduced its operating costs and won two international titles: the 2020 Copa Sudamericana and the 2021 Recopa Sudamericana.

He also promoted the development of a new training center for grassroots football, projected on an area of 54,000 square meters and with an investment of approximately six million dollars, which made Defensa y Justicia a model project for South American football.
Previously, he was head of commercial at River Plate, where he participated in the design of the sponsorship strategy, the creation of new revenue lines and the management of the stadium’s main commercial assets. He also developed a professional experience in the marketing area of the basketball section of Real Madrid.
COLLABORATION WITH FIFA
As part of its collaboration with FIFA, it participates in international training and consulting missions, advising clubs and sports organizations from different countries in the design of management strategies and the development of sustainable and competitive business models.
His profile combines a business vision of football with a strong orientation towards sports management, budget control, optimisation of the transfer market, the implementation of youth projects and the use of data to improve decision-making. He arrives with the mission of continuing to professionalize Real Zaragoza, make it competitive, institutionally solid and economically sustainable, and bring it closer and closer to its fans.
