To support initiatives that complement or replace, from the territorial or functional level, municipal action in the field of social action. That is the objective of the line of subsidies whose call has been approved by the Government of Zaragoza, and which will be one of the main lines of support of the Social Policies Area to third sector entities.
The call has a budget of 3,372,518 euros to finance social intervention projects promoted by non-profit entities and associations that carry out their activity in the city of Zaragoza. These grants, which will be granted on a competitive basis, will thus strengthen the collaboration between the City Council and the associative fabric to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable people.
FROM CHILDHOOD TO HOMELESSNESS
The projects must be developed between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2027 and may be framed in any of the twelve areas established in the call: Childhood and Adolescence, Support for Families, Equality and Gender Violence, Homelessness, Migrants, Social Inclusion, Social Inclusion, Social and Labor Inclusion, Older People, Disability, Health Promotion and Emotional Well-being, Support for People with Chronic Diseases and Community Advocacy.
Each entity may present a single project, with a requested amount of between 1,500 and 140,000 euros. With this call, Zaragoza City Council reaffirms its commitment to third sector entities, which are essential for the development of social intervention projects that complement municipal action and contribute to improving care for the most vulnerable people and groups in the city.
IMPROVEMENTS RESULTING FROM JOINT WORK WITH THE THIRD SECTOR
The call incorporates important novelties compared to the previous edition, the result of a participatory process developed during the months of January and February in which more than 80 social entities and 15 municipal technicians participated.
Among the main improvements is the creation of two differentiated lines of subsidy depending on the amount requested: Line A, intended for projects of up to 12,000 euros, and Line B, for the rest of the initiatives, with requirements, assessment criteria and financing conditions adapted to the size of each project and the entity, favouring a more equitable distribution of resources.
Likewise, a new assessment system is implemented aimed at the social impact and quality of the projects, the processing is simplified through forms with integrated instructions and specific support materials, and a single justification is established at the end of the project, reducing the administrative burden for the beneficiary entities.
The call also improves payment conditions, with a more favourable calendar for organisations, and reinforces transparency throughout the procedure for granting aid.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
The call will be published in the coming days in the Official Gazette of the Province of Zaragoza (BOPZ). From that moment on, a period of 15 working days will be opened to submit applications through the electronic headquarters of the Zaragoza City Council.
Interested entities will be able to consult all the information of the call, access the forms and download the support material for the submission of applications through the procedure enabled in the municipal electronic headquarters.
