The Aragonese capital is experiencing a summer marked by high temperatures and the data from the Zaragoza City Council confirm this: the city has already activated the Zaragoza Municipal Emergency Plan eight times due to a heat wave, with a total of 27 days under this device since the beginning of the season.
The figure is practically double that recorded last summer. In 2025 there were four activations, which translated into 16 days with the plan in operation. This year, on the other hand, there are already eight episodes and 27 days in which special measures have had to be deployed to deal with the heat.
The latest activation took place this Wednesday, given the forecast of temperatures that could reach 42 degrees, with minimums that have not given much respite either. The plan will initially remain active until 8:00 a.m. this Thursday.

But the Zaragoza oven will begin to lower the temperature from this Thursday. Although the capital will still reach 36 degrees, the day could be marked by the appearance of storms around noon. The change will be even more evident on Friday, when the maximum temperatures will fall to 30 degrees, six less than the previous day, and wind gusts will increase, which could reach 20 kilometers per hour.
