The Barbastro Hospital could soon become a University Hospital. In recent months, the Health Department has reinforced the structure and staff of all healthcare areas, both medical and surgical. They are also working on the development of commissions that are a basic requirement to guarantee the teaching itinerary of residents and pre-graduate training.
Precisely to continue advancing in this objective, the director of the Hospital Health Care Area, Sara Guillén, has met with part of her team and with the management team of the Hospital de Barbastro, within the framework of the working group created for this purpose.
It should be remembered that the recognition of the University Hospital is a commitment of the Government of Aragón and the University of Zaragoza to improve the training of health students. To become a university student, the centre must meet the requirements for this category, which include having a certain structure and management bodies, as well as an adequate physical infrastructure for the development of teaching and research.
Likewise, it will be necessary, at a later stage, to modify the agreement between the Government of Aragon and the University of Zaragoza for the use of health centres in university research and teaching.
