The favorable evolution of the fire of Las Peñas de Riglos has allowed a new step to be taken in the return of the neighbors to their homes. The Advanced Command Post has authorized this Wednesday afternoon the relocation of Triste, La Peña Estación, Yeste, Anzánigo, Osia and Bernués, six towns that remained evacuated since the advance of the flames forced the evacuation of their population.
In total, 205 people can return to their homes this afternoon. They are in addition to the 378 residents who had already received authorization during the morning to return to Santa María de la Peña, Salinas de Jaca, Villalangua, Larués, Bailo, Arbués and Alastuey. With this new decision, the total number of rehoused now amounts to 583 people.
In these towns, the electricity supply and telecommunications have been restored, although the recommendation not to consume water from the network until the results of the Public Health analyses are known.
SIX LOCALITIES CONTINUE TO BE EVICTED
Despite the improvement in the situation, there are still six nuclei whose residents cannot return to their homes. They are Ena, Centenero, Botaya, Atarés, Santa Cruz de la Serós and Binacua, which remain evacuated for the moment while the monitoring of the fire continues.
The fire in Las Peñas de Riglos has been active since August 10 and keeps Operational Situation 2, Level 2, of Procinfo activated. The provisional area affected remains at 18,400 hectares, with an approximate perimeter of 100 kilometers.
The improvement recorded during the last few hours is also allowing the support device moved from outside Aragón. Firefighters from France and operatives from almost all the autonomous communities have already begun their return trips, once the fire situation has improved.
THE OPERATION THAT WILL REMAIN OVERNIGHT
The device will continue to work during the night from Wednesday to Thursday to monitor the perimeter and act on the points that can be reactivated. The Infoar operation of the Government of Aragon will maintain nine ground brigades, eight fire trucks and 18 agents for the Protection of Nature, in addition to the Light Advanced Command Post, technicians, the technical director of Extinction and Gadex support personnel.
