[EN] The film directed by a new director from Zaragoza that sweeps Amazon Prime: it is the third most watched in Spain

The film premieres on March 6 in cinemas throughout Spain

The film is directed by a new director from Zaragoza

He had been «chipping stone for many years» but the first opportunity he was given has not been wasted. Rubén Pérez can proudly say that his film is taking one of the most popular streaming platforms in the world by storm. «Walking with the Devil», the first feature film directed by this new director from Zaragoza, has slipped into the most watched productions in Spain on Amazon Prime.

The film is currently in third position of the 10 best titles in Spain of the streaming giant and continues to receive praise from the public and critics. Rubén Pérez’s work is only behind «Reacher», the series starring Alan Ritchson that already has four seasons, and «Sterling Point», the new drama youth series that has debuted in style.

«Walking with the Devil» arrived in theaters on March 6 and since its premiere it has done nothing but surprise every viewer who has seen it. In the Spain of the 80s, Miguel and Alicia suffer the disappearance of their son Gabriel. Miguel is consumed by the guilt of that night of alcohol in which he lost it. For Alicia, on the other hand, it was not her son who died that day, but her husband. Far from that hell, Philippe, a ten-year-old French boy, travels in a caravan with his parents. Their paths cross with those of Miguel and Alicia, making a real thriller.

TAMAR NOVAS AND MARINA SALAS AS PROTAGONISTS

«You never get the idea that you’re going to premiere your first film at the cine. I’m really looking forward to people seeing it because there’s a huge amount of work behind it,» the new filmmaker told this newspaper before its premiere. In his first film, he has directed actors such as Tamar Novas and Marina Salas while Beatriz Bodegas (La Canica Films), winner of the Goya Award for Best Film for «Tarde para la Ira», has been in charge of the production.

After Pilar Palomero, Paula Ortiz and Javier Macipe, Rubén Pérez joins the Aragonese filmmakers who in recent years have managed to rear their heads in the industry and have almost immediate success. «The successes of colleagues always serve as a boost and motivation. Seeing his triumph helps you to continue fighting for your dream,» said the Zaragoza director.
